How referrals work

This site is a referral service. We pass your request to independent local contractors. We do not do gutter work ourselves, and contractors may pay us a referral fee.

Our part

  1. You send a request

Name, phone, address and what you need. Add anything odd about the house.

  2. We pass it on

We send it to one or more independent local contractors. That is our whole job.

  3. We may be paid

Contractors may pay us a referral fee. You don't pay us, and you owe nobody anything for asking.

The contractor's part, and what to ask for

These are good questions to raise. Each contractor runs their own process, so hold them to what they put in writing.

  1. A visit and a measurement

Ask them to measure each run, look at the fascia or cornice, and walk where the water will go.

  2. A written, itemized quote

Footage, gutter size, metal thickness, hanger type and spacing, downspouts, removal, trim repair and start date.

  3. The rules answered

Who checks for a permit, a historic district or an HOA rule, and who applies. Ask this before you sign.

  4. A flush and a walk

Ask for each run to be flushed with water while you watch, and hold the final payment until it drains.

Questions

What does this cost me?

Nothing from us. Contractors may pay us a referral fee. Whatever you pay for the gutter work goes to the contractor under your agreement with them.

How many contractors see my request?

It may go to one or more independent contractors. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is shared and how to ask us to stop.

What if nobody calls?

A request is not a promise. Contractors decide which jobs they take, and busy spells after storms are common. If you hear nothing, nothing stops you from calling contractors yourself, and these checks apply to anyone you hire.

Do you vouch for the contractor?

No. Missouri has no statewide license to look up for gutter work, and we are not an inspector. Please do your own checks before signing anything.

Ask for a written quote

Tell us about the house. We pass your request to an independent local contractor, who contacts you directly if they can take the job. The contractor sets the price and does the work.
